Plumbers: common questions
Q.01What should I do while I wait for an emergency plumber?
Turn off the water at the main stopcock, switch off the geyser at the DB board if it’s leaking, and move anything valuable out of the way. Take a few photos for your insurer while you’re at it.
Q.02Do I need a CoC for a new geyser?
A geyser installation should come with a plumbing Certificate of Compliance from a PIRB-registered plumber, and most insurers ask for it on geyser claims. Ask about it when you get your quote.
Q.03Will I pay a call-out fee?
Many plumbers charge one, especially after hours. The business will tell you their rates when they contact you. TradeFlex doesn’t charge you anything.
Q.04Can I get more than one quote?
Yes. Tick “quote only” and we’ll try to connect you with more than one plumber so you can compare.
